The public page of a statement

What your buyer sees at the statement's address, what they never see, and why the page stays online even if your house leaves the platform.

ONE ADDRESS, AND THE DOCUMENT SAYS IT

Every statement lives at an address of the form /c/ followed by its code. The printed document carries that address and this sentence: « Verifiable only at the address shown — any other address is a forgery. »

The page is not indexed by search engines and is never cached. Nobody needs an account to read it.

WHAT YOUR BUYER SEES

The title and the artist, the year, the medium, the dimensions, the edition and the series when they are filled in. The attribution wording, large, with the decree's reminder. Your reservations, if any. The issue date, your house's name and its town. The provenance history, dated and anonymous. And the document's fingerprint.

WHAT THEY NEVER SEE

The page is built from an allow-list: anything not on it is held back, without exception.

  • The statement's sequence number.
  • The price, in any form whatsoever.
  • The identity of the owner or the buyer.
  • The photographs of the work.
  • The name of the person on your team who issued the document.
  • The reason for a revocation.

IF YOUR HOUSE LEAVES THE PLATFORM

The page stays online. The document outlives its issuer — that is the one rule that makes a statement useful in the long run to whoever holds the work.

A factual banner then appears: « The issuer of this statement is no longer active on the platform. The statement remains recorded and verifiable. » Only the issuing of a new statement is refused.

Frequently asked questions

CAN A THIRD PARTY VERIFY WITHOUT TRUSTING ME?

Yes. The page carries a platform signature over the strictly public set, and the address of the key set that lets anyone check it. The page also states its limit: without the document's salt, a third party cannot recompute the fingerprint themselves.

CAN I GIVE MY BUYER A COMPLETE FILE?

Yes: the export produces a self-contained archive with the document, its data and its salt, the chain, the timestamp anchor, a verification program and a note saying what the file proves and what it does not.

WHAT DOES SOMEONE TYPING A RANDOM CODE SEE?

The same error page as an erased or malformed code, with no cause named. Telling the cases apart would make the erasure itself a piece of information.
